Piazza del Plebiscito
(Piazza del Papa)
Piazza del Plebiscito, more commonly known as Piazza del Papa, is one of the four main squares in Ancona (the others being Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Roma, and Piazza Cavour). This vibrant meeting spot comes to life from aperitif time until late at night, thanks to the bars and restaurants nearby.
Some of the city’s most important monuments overlook the square: the Statue of Clement XII, the Palazzo del Governo, and the Church of San Domenico.

The Cathedral
The Cathedral of Ancona stands at the top of Colle Guasco and is dedicated to Saint Cyriacus.
It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo and is a medieval church where Romanesque and Byzantine styles blend together.
Piazza Cavour
Piazza Cavour, dating back to the 20th century, is located along the “da mare a mare” promenade, which stretches from west to east across the promontory on which the city stands, from the port docks to the cliffs of Passetto.
The square is characterised by the statue of Cavour at its centre, a work by Aristodemo Costoli, a renowned sculptor of the Risorgimento era.
Corso Garibaldi
Corso Garibaldi is the main street in Ancona, lined with bars and interesting shops for a pleasant shopping experience.
